Shipping Corporation of India, reported a phenomenal rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 50.78% to Rs 2,748.80 million from Rs 1,823.10 million in the same quarter previous year.

Net sales for the quarter rose 36.34% to Rs 11,846.50 million, while total income for the quarter rose 35.82% to Rs 12,846.00 million, when compared with the prior year period.
