The Indian rupee appreciated to its highest in a fortnight on Monday, November 3 as dollar weakness helped sentiment for the local unit, while positive points in the local equities  re-energized expectations for fresh capital inflows.The partially convertible rupee settled 1.6% stronger to stand at 48.64/65 a dollar, from Friday`s close of 49.44/46.
