Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals reported a marginal rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 0.79% to Rs 837.80 million from Rs 831.20 million in the same quarter previous year.

Net sales for the quarter rose 32.82% to Rs 3,924.00 million, while total income for the quarter rose 24.22% to Rs 3,989.20 million, when compared with the prior year period.
